10.16.20 Metal Tithe, Out of Office, Shirley Petersen, Birthdays, MOM
The current recipient of metal/recycle money tithe is the Forgotten Man Ministries. FMM's purpose is to visit, counsel, and present the Gospel to men and women in jails and prisons. Volunteers visit prisoners at the Ottawa County Jail each Tuesday. After a short devotion by the jail Chaplin, on-on-one visits take place. Conversations include families, their life, jail, and the Gospel. Gary Schamper, from Ist Church, is a FMM volunteer. Gary says, in addition to one-on-one visits, he tries to attend their court sessions to give additional support. Pastor Cory will be out of the office from Sunday, October 18th through Saturday, October 24th. If a need arises, please contact your elder or deacon.
Shirley Petersen's obituary was published in the Tribune on Wednesday, October 14th. If you do not receive the Tribune, you can read it HERE. There is also a place to write messages to Shirley's family and a link to send memorials to Camp Sunshine in Shirley's name. A virtual memorial service will be held for Shirley's family and friends, but the time and date have not been set yet. I will send out another email for those who are interested after that has been decided. Thanks for your support, Alice Mohr
