ROOTED is a ministry for young adult and college-aged adults who seek community, biblical teaching and worship, and ways to grow and lead in their faith journey and relationship with Jesus Christ. We have quite a wonderfully mixed group; there are young working adults, students from Calvin, MCC, GVSU, Cornerstone, and a couple more. There were young people from Grand Haven, Jenison, Hudsonville, Grandville, Grand Rapids, and farther. Absolutely anyone is invited and welcome to join this growing, Spirit-led ministry.

ROOTED is a ministry that is primarily participant lead. Pastor Cory Nederveld, youth pastor Eric VanHouten, and worship leaders Mary Fix and Allie VanOss help facilitate and teach, but they have been able to hand more and more ownership over to these gifted young adults (hospitality, worship, and teaching/leading as well). Equipping this next generation to own their faith is one of the objectives of this ministry. We aim to guide these college-age adults to lead and serve not only in this ministry, but also in their campuses and communities. These meetings have also been a great space to ask difficult questions and explore what God has to say on these subjects. This way, we both lay the groundwork for mature and articulate faith, as well as create an atmosphere of personal spiritual growth. We have had some candid conversations on some very difficult topics.

Cory started Rooted in 2017, and continues to provide most of the messages, trains its leaders, and loves getting to know each person that attends. Contact him if you have any questions!
